Fuel integrity fundamentals

What is FuelGuard?

FuelGuard is a fuel-integrity product and verification system combining field-testing equipment, practical operating procedures and evidence workflows for fleets, suppliers, depots and industrial fuel users.

Does FuelGuard certify that fuel is compliant?

No. FuelGuard field products support screening, early detection and evidence collection. Formal specification, composition or adulteration conclusions require the appropriate accredited laboratory analysis.

Which fuel types are covered?

The current range includes diesel rapid screening, diesel and petrol density-testing kits and selected free-water control applications. Each product page states the intended fuel and operating use.

What is DensiTest designed to do?

DensiTest is designed as a rapid diesel screening control at the point of refuelling or custody transfer. It supports a simple test, photograph and evidence workflow before the vehicle or operation continues.

Does DensiTest replace a laboratory test?

No. An anomalous DensiTest result should trigger the defined exception procedure, retained samples and confirmatory laboratory analysis where required.

Why test every participating fleet refuel?

Consistent testing creates a comparable evidence trail and prevents selective testing only after a problem becomes visible. The FuelGuard Fleet model therefore treats the test as a compulsory part of the refuelling event.

Density and temperature

What ranges are used?

The diesel hydrometer range is 0.800–0.850 and the petrol hydrometer range is 0.700–0.750. The kit also includes a 0–60 °C thermometer and a 1,000 mL graduated cylinder.

Why must temperature be recorded?

Fuel density changes with temperature. The observed hydrometer reading must therefore be considered together with sample temperature and the relevant correction guidance.

Can one hydrometer be used for both diesel and petrol?

No. The products use different density ranges. The premium dual-fuel kit includes a separate hydrometer for each fuel.

AquaTrap™

Water contamination control

What does AquaTrap do?

AquaTrap supports selected free-water absorption applications in compatible fuel storage environments. Correct sizing and placement depend on tank access, fuel type and the water condition.

Does AquaTrap fix the cause of water ingress?

No. The source of water ingress, condensation or tank-condition problem must still be investigated and corrected. AquaTrap is a control product, not a substitute for tank maintenance.

Can I buy all products online?

Standard hydrometer kits may be ordered through the shop. DensiTest, AquaTrap and fleet bundles may require quotation, sizing or application confirmation before supply.

How are deliveries handled?

Delivery availability, method and cost are confirmed during checkout or order confirmation. Large, customised or remote deliveries may require a separate quotation.

Can FuelGuard help develop an SOP?

Yes. Technical and fleet enquiries can include operating procedure design, evidence checklists, pilot structure and escalation requirements.
